Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith is the founder and Global Head of Research & Development at TruDiagnostic, a CLIA-certified lab and health data company specializing in epigenetic methylation analysis for preventative healthcare and life extension. He earned a BA in Biochemistry from Transylvania University and began medical school at the University of Kentucky in 2013, passing USMLE Step 1 before leaving to launch Tailor Made Compounding, a pharmacy focused on peptide synthesis and pharmaceutical formulations. Under his leadership, the company rapidly expanded, becoming the 4th fastest-growing healthcare business in the US and achieving $80 million in revenue within three years.

A founding member of the International Peptide Society, Smith frequently spoke at events and interviews on peptide research and applications. In 2020, after exiting Tailor Made, Smith founded TruDiagnostic to address the need for advanced tools in measuring biological aging, driven by insights from his pharmacy work where physicians treated age as a disease. The company has built the world's largest private epigenetic database, with over 70,000 patients tested on the EPIC850k array, enabling the development of second- and third-generation aging clocks more precise than first-generation models.

TruDiagnostic collaborates with leading institutions like Duke, Harvard, Yale, UCSF, and Ohio State on methylome research, supports over 21 clinical studies on longevity interventions, and has published more than 30 academic papers while securing over 10 patents. Smith continues to consult for pharmacies and clinics globally, hosts interviews with epigenetic and longevity experts, and advances multi-omic investigations for integrative and functional medicine providers.
