About

Occupational Therapy in Motion is a pediatric occupational therapy practice serving children with neuro-musculoskeletal dysfunction, sensory processing disorders, and other developmental challenges. Located on a 13-acre farm environment in Long Island, the practice uses the movement of horses as a treatment strategy alongside traditional therapy techniques to help children address functional limitations and improve their overall development.

The practice was founded in 2011 with a philosophy centered on the healing power of movement and nature. The therapists provide individualized care in a motivating environment that combines multiple therapeutic approaches. The farm setting, which includes various animals and an adaptive playground, creates natural and engaging interactions designed to improve motor skills, coordination, and sensory processing. The team maintains a respectful and caring atmosphere while supporting families navigating the challenges of raising children with special needs.

Services offered include:

• Hippotherapy using horse movement as a treatment strategy • Natural environment therapy utilizing the 13-acre farm with animals and adaptive playground • Clinic-based therapy with suspended equipment, rock climbing wall, and salt water pool • Pediatric sensory integration therapy • Early childhood treatment services • Therapy in natural environments outside the clinic setting
